Temple Abzu is an Earth Medicine church and ceremonial community devoted to healing, remembrance, and direct relationship with the Divine through sacred sacrament, prayer, ritual, embodiment, and relationship with the living Earth. The church is rooted in the belief that ceremony is a sacred spiritual practice and a place to restore relationship with self, Spirit, the Earth, and the wider web of life. Its work brings together earth-based spiritual practice, shadow work, embodiment, ritual, ancestral relationship, energy work, and devotion. Temple Abzu was founded by Chelsea River Leigh, who serves as the steward of its vision and lead ceremonialist. Chelsea has been initiated as a Pampamesayoq in the Q’ero lineage and is a graduate of the Four Winds Shamanic School. Her training also includes shamanic practice, Reiki, integration coaching, somatic facilitation, trauma-informed facilitation, and years of direct apprenticeship through ceremony and relationship with the Medicines. Temple Abzu approaches facilitation as stewardship rather than authority. The role of the facilitator is to create and protect the ceremonial container, support each person through their process, and help them reconnect with the wisdom and power already within themselves. At the center of the church is remembrance: remembering our relationship with the Earth, the sacredness of life, and our own direct relationship with Spirit.
