Kuma Bwenze · Miobe Nganga Na Somba, Babongo MWELI

My life as a Miobe Nganga is to do Gods will in all facets of my life without contradiction. Only from here am I worthy to study and learn, under masters, the true tradition from the only unadulterated Bwete derived of the first nations Babongo. First I eat, sleep, work and therefore spiritualise my entire being to be as clean as possible in servitude, to ensure to those who are sick that there is a way out. Miobe Nganga hold the complete knowledge of the forest and the psychological prowess required to diagnose the sick. Come to wholeness. Come to being. Come to your natural state by the only way possible, by the hands of those that represent exemplary cleanliness of mind and body to ensure the exchange of healing spiritual force. From birth I have craved, been compelled by and drawn to, that which is missing. My feeling of safety, my feeling of being loved, my feeling of trust being paramount in my journey. For me, intelligence is temporary without the resolve that we are indelibly interconnected with a spirit that is within all that we experience. Never have I given up on my journey to see myself and others secure what is theirs by birth rite, by pure will I have sought out western and eastern philosophies, psychedelics and numerous other cultural experiences over a period of 30 plus years in an effort to become more whole and more of myself so that i may assist others in their own journeys through living example. After lengthy and ongoing self development, my visionary experience lit my path towards the study of Bwete and Iboga. I have chosen to place my energies in this tradition's great wisdom after witnessing and experiencing its tremendous abilities to merge with the self, to extend the self into the soul realm where we are born, nurtured and free of delusion. Ikara Retreat Center Costa Rica is my new home. Having experienced personal transformation through Iboga, it was the catalyst for my ongoing commitment to the study of the self and others emancipation.. My research into undivided wholeness through comparative philosophies and cultures is ongoing. True Bwete is a timeless and pathless land, something that can never be concluded or finished. It is ever beginning and immeasurable. I devote my life now to the tradition of true Bwete as seen from the ancestral roots of Dissumba and its counterpart Miobe.

I have been trained as a Nganga Na Somba in the Miobe branch of Bwete. I work with the people´s of Mboka a Nzambe (The Universal Village of God). The Bwete branch called Miobe is a healing branch and it is devoted to traditional medicine from the forest. It is mainly practiced by the Babongo, Tsogho and Apindji peoples and it has its origins in the province of Ngounié. The Miobe Nganga helps restores the physical and psychic health of man through a series of treatments. It is one of the oldest and more traditional branches of Bwete and close to the mother branch of ''Disumba di muro na bata". Bwete is the reflection of God. It is not a system, it is whole and a spirituality in true vernacular. Spirituality being the only omnipresent representation one can experience. Bwete is therefore life in all of its manifestations. It is our knowing of our action, our realisation and truth beyond thought which is fragmentary and exists in religiosity. Bwete is not bwiti. Selling Iboga is not Bwete. Living a material life in sin is not being a Nganga. Nothing in the west today is anywhere near worthy of appropriating Bwete. You cannot study Bwete, you live Bwete. It is not Iboga, it is not ceremony. To realise your wholeness which is your only correction, you need people living Bwete.

Manga · Ombudi Mabandzi

Ombudi or the rite of transcendence! ÔMBUDI is an initiatory rite of Gabonese culture allowing neophytes of all kinds to know themselves in depth through IBOGA, which leads into the spheres of spiritual holiness through transcendence, under the company of MIGHESI (power of the waters). The mother goddess of this rite is called MUANGA BENDA (revealing spirit), symbolizing the Holy Spirit in truth. My partner Jamie and I moved to Costa Rica from Australia and set up Ikara Retreat Centre as a lifelong commitment to providing a space where we may express our intentions and beliefs by conceiving, operating and participating in carefully constructed retreats that develop the individual. For the last 30 years, I have traveled and explored the inner realms of my psyche through traditional entheogenic plants. My exploration with Iboga gave me a direct understanding of how thoughts and beliefs are actualized into experience and through that direct experience comes knowledge - this is an emotional reality for me which may not be felt by all. I can only talk from my heart and share my experiences with those who visit us. As a host, I am here for anything that is needed in your personal journey. I assist people with their integration process. and will use the knowledge and experience I have gained to help them translate their experiences with Iboga free of context and conditioning. I came from a background in Science and obtained my PhD in Astronomy in 1998. I was institutionalized by choice for a further 8 years working as a research associate at the Univeristy of NSW. During this time I ran my own electronic music label, distribution company and toured internationally. Throughout this time I conducted my own practical research into entheogenic plants and their effects. In 2006, I decided that that was enough externalization of thought and moved from Sydney (Australia) to a quiet town in the Snowy Mountains and became a School Bus driver. The true lessons of life were learnt here in this quiet town, away from the city and all its distractions. Now disengaged from the machine and with the love and support of my eternal soul mate - the real research could begin., I now use all that I affectionately learnt while contained within the system to apply to my inward study of the self. One thing that Astrophysics has taught me is that the focus should never be outwards into an unknown universe but simply towards the creation of the self. Which could in fact be termed the "Big Bang" ? Throughout my life I have learnt that we create our own experience and that nothing that we experience exists outside of the self. Accountability and responsibility is paramount for a joyous life. Through our thoughts and beliefs we attract events that reinforce the beliefs we hold. It is only through observance that we can bring focus to habitual thought patterns and begin to change what we experience in our lives., quite simply by changing our thoughts. Observance of thought allows us to finally see what beliefs we hold. Beliefs that are limiting our life experience and preventing us from being spontaneous and joyous. It is an artform that is my lifes work. These are the teachings that came with Iboga. For this reason I wanted to work with Iboga as I saw it as a great tool for people to get instant change in their lives. It is a spirit for the modern world - other plants are transpersonal in nature, Iboga takes you directly to the seat of creaturehood, through a direct soul connection, so that you can change your life for the better,

I am the first western women to be initiated into the womans cult of OMBUDI. OMBUDI is not a brqnch of BWETE, it sits alongside and is inseparable from BWETE and its processes. You cannot have BWETE without OMBUDI in the true tradition. I was initiated at Mboka A Nzambe (The Universal Village of God) with the first nations people and the originators of this tradition, the Babongos.
