The Bufo Alvarius (5-MeO-DMT) Facilitator Training at Bufo Healing Sanctuary is designed for individuals called to work with this medicine in a structured, responsible, and grounded way. This program focuses on developing the skills, awareness, and discipline required to safely facilitate Bufo within a controlled and ethical container. Bufo Alvarius (5-MeO-DMT) is a potent, non-dual medicine derived from the secretion of the Sonoran Desert toad (Incilius alvarius), known for its ability to induce rapid ego dissolution and altered states of consciousness. This training prepares participants to understand, navigate, and support these experiences with clarity and stability, while honoring the origins of this medicine and the traditional lineages that have worked with it, including the Seri (Comcaac) traditions of the Sonoran Desert region. This training is also guided by Marla B. Lindner’s direct experience and professional background, including Bufo Alvarius Facilitator Training, Transformational Psychedelic Integration Coaching, and advanced facilitation and leadership training, providing a balanced approach that integrates safety, structure, and practical application. This is a private, one-on-one training program that allows for individualized pacing and focused instruction. The program includes a 12–14 day in-person immersion (approximately 70–100 hours), followed by a 6–8 week online integration and mentorship period. The in-person portion includes direct experiential work, observation, and applied learning, and participants will also sit in a Huachuma (San Pedro) ceremony to support grounding, emotional processing, and integration within the training process. The training follows a progressive, experience-based approach where participants move through stages of direct involvement rather than theory alone. This includes receiving the medicine within a guided setting, learning self-preparation and personal interaction, assisting in ceremony and observing facilitation, and stepping into supported facilitation when appropriate. Throughout the program, participants are trained in client screening and readiness assessment, preparation protocols and communication, ceremony structure and facilitation flow, space holding and participant support, nervous system awareness and regulation, recognition of physical and psychological responses, integration support and aftercare, and microdosing awareness as it relates to integration in a non-prescriptive context. Training timelines are offered as a range due to the individualized nature of the process. Because this is a private, one-on-one container, progression is based on nervous system regulation, personal readiness, and the ability to integrate and apply the work. Participants are not advanced based on time alone, but on demonstrated stability, understanding, and readiness. Participants may have the opportunity to continue into apprenticeship-style mentorship following completion of the program, based on readiness, consistency, and alignment with the work.

1. Bufo Alvarius/5-MeO-Dmt

This 12–14 day training is a comprehensive, experiential, spiritual, and practical immersion designed to support the development of safe, ethical, and embodied facilitation. Participants are introduced to the foundations of Bufo facilitation, including understanding the nature and depth of Bufo Alvarius, the role of the facilitator rooted in presence, responsibility, and integrity, and how to create a safe, grounded, and protected ceremonial container with clear ethics, boundaries, and professional conduct. The training covers screening, safety, and preparation, including client screening awareness and contraindications, discovery call structure and readiness assessment, physical, emotional, and mental preparation protocols, pre-integration practices, expectation setting, and overall risk awareness. Participants are guided through ceremony structure and space holding, including ceremony flow, energetic opening practices, working with intention and presence, understanding the four directions and ceremonial elements, holding space during peak experiences, and recognizing and responding to participant needs. Medicine handling and facilitation awareness are addressed through respectful preparation practices, high-level non-prescriptive dosage awareness, supporting the participant experience from start to completion, and grounding and re-entry support. The program also emphasizes energetic awareness and nervous system support, including reading energy within the space, maintaining a stable and regulated presence, supporting intense emotional or energetic releases, and creating a calm environment for deep surrender. Integration and aftercare are a core focus, with training in post-ceremony support, integration frameworks, emotional processing, and maintaining appropriate boundaries following ceremony. Participants are also introduced to operational and professional tools, including intake forms, waivers, client documentation, structuring offerings, building a safe and ethical practice framework, and guidance on working within private or faith-based container models. The training includes exposure to foundational and ancient teachings, as well as communication strategies and client preparation workflows. Experiential and embodiment-based learning is central to the program, including receiving the medicine within a held container, progressing through stages of facilitation awareness, supported observation and participation, and developing embodiment of presence, trust, and responsibility. The training is supported by a 6–8 week online integration and mentorship container, providing continued guidance, check-ins, space for reflection, and support as participants begin stepping into facilitation.
